FLOR MATA is a velvet voice in a setting of hybrid pop and sophisticated electronic music. In this artist "Drama", as named in his first EP released in 2023, everything is about contrast. His theatricality seems straight out of a Fellini film. His musicality, on the other hand, stands out, between the strange pop of Bjork and the textured electro of James Blake. A resolutely queer figure, FLOR MATA brings together, in lyrics in French and English, "the silenced ones and those who take up all the space". Florent Mateo, his real name, has surrounded themselves well. On stage and in the studio, they can be found alongside Camille, Jeanne Added, Yael Naim, or with the singer and drummer Anne Pacéo, just to name a few.
